Stephanie MehtaTime Inc. Editor in Chief Martha Nelson announced the promotion of Stephanie Mehta to the role of Deputy Managing Editor of Fortune magazine last week. Mehta had been serving as Executive Editor since 2010.

According to Nelson’s announcement of the move, Mehta “serves as the brand’s International Editor, oversees its technology coverage and its Washington coverage, and acts as co-chair of the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit and the Fortune Brainstorm Tech Conference. On top of that (if you can imagine), Stephanie helps steer the overall editorial direction of the magazine with great news sense and sophistication, and is a much sought-after mentor to writers and reporters, from the most senior to the most junior.”

Prior to joining Fortune as a Senior Writer in 2000, Mehta was Deputy Bureau Chief of the The Wall Street Journal‘s Enterprise group.
