Condé Nast announced that Gillian Gorman Round has been promoted from Senior Vice President, Brand Development, to the newly created role of General Manager, heading up editorial and business operations at Lucky magazine. Round replaces Marcy Bloom, who had been Publisher at Lucky since September 2011.

Lucky‘s Editor in Chief, Brandon Holley, will report to Round. According to Women’s Wear Daily, “It is the first time an editor in chief at Condé has ever reported to a business executive.” The blog also noted that Lucky‘s print magazine has been struggling recently, with a decline in advertising and newsstand sales, and that there as been speculation as to whether it will eventually shift to digital-only.

The change in leadership coincides with an increased emphasis on e-commerce, with the planned rollout of a new e-commerce platform aimed at boosting the magazine’s revenue stream.
