  • A reorganization at National Geographic has resulted in the promotion of Susan Goldberg from Executive Editor of News and Features to Editor in Chief of National Geographic magazine and News.

    In addition, Melina Bellows has moved into the role of Chief Education Officer, from Executive Vice President of the National Geographic Society and Chief Creative Officer for Books, Kids and Family, overseeing the Kids’ franchises, School Publishing, the National Geographic Education Foundation, and the National Geographic Bee.

  • Ellen Kampinsky has joined Consumer Reports as Editor in Chief. She was previously a Senior Editor at Newsweek and The Daily Beast, and was News Director at Glamour.
  • Mitzi Miller is on board at Johnson Publishing’s Ebony as its new Editor in Chief. Miller served as EIC at Jet magazine, where she oversaw the publication’s relaunch and its website’s redesign.
  • Janet Guyon is the new Editor in Chief of TheStreet.com, She comes to the financial news site from Investopedia, where she was Managing Editor.
  • Cover of Self magazineJoyce Chang is the new Editor in Chief of Condé Nast’s Self magazine, following the departure of Lucy Danziger, who had been with the magazine for 13 years. Chang will be leaving her role as Executive Editor as Hearst’s Cosmopolitan. She has also held roles at Marie Claire, People, Lucky, and Allure.
  • Mary Murcko is Self‘s New Vice President and Publisher, replacing Laura McEwen, who also stepped down. Murcko was previously President of National Sales at Gannett.
  • Meaghan Murphy has been named Executive Editor of Hearst’s Good Housekeeping magazine. She had been serving as Deputy Editor at Self and was previously a Senior Editor at Cosmopolitan.
  • Anna Jones has been promoted from COO to CEO of Hearst Magazines UK. Jones was previously Digital and Strategy Director at Hachette Filipacchi UK.
  • Susan Kittenplan has been hired to serve as Executive Editor of Media Initiatives at Yahoo, where she will lead editorial strategy and help develop Yahoo’s digital magazines. She was Executive Editor of Condé Nast’s Allure prior to running her own content development and branding firm, Kittenplan Catalyst LLC.
  • Theresa Griggs is now Creative Director at Cosmopolitan. She was previously the Design Director at Women’s Health and was Art Director at Glamour and Entertainment Weekly.
  • Amy Laine has joined Cosmopolitan as Integrated Marketing Director. She had been a partner at marketing consultancy Hyperlaine and has worked with Afar, Wired, The Atlantic, DailyCandy, and Bloomberg.
  • Erynn Petersen has been hired as Senior Vice President, Strategic Mobile Development, at Time Inc., where she will focus on developing the company’s mobile and tablet technologies. She had been Executive Director at the Outercurve, a non-profit open-source foundation, and has also worked for Amazon and AOL.
  • Kristen Baldwin has been promoted from Executive Editor for Integrated Content to Deputy Editor at Time Inc.’s Entertainment Weekly. She has been with the publication for 20 years.
  • Nina Willdorf has been promoted to Editor of Time Inc.’s All You budget-shopping-focused magazine, where she had been Executive Editor since 2012. She was previously Editor in Chief of Budget Travel.
  • Danica Lo is filling the new position of Executive Editor at Condé Nast’s recipe site Epicurious.com. She was previously a style blogger and editor at Glamour and Stylebistro.
  • Janell Pittman has been promoted from General Manager of BHG.com to Vice President and General Manager of the Meredith Corp.’s Better Homes and Gardens and Parents Digital Network. She will manage Parents.com and Parenting.com in addition to her current BHG.com responsibilities.
