Get creative!

In today’s fast-changing environment, companies across industries are gaining competitive advantage by applying “design thinking” at all levels of their business, according to this week’s infographic pick from Accenture. The research firm has found that not only are these companies driving more innovation and building more customer-centric businesses, but they are also seeing an improved workplace culture, with greater employee satisfaction.

Sounds good, but what does it take to be a design-driven company? As Martha Cotton of Accenture Interactive’s Fjord Design explains, it’s about “prioritizing a holistic customer experience over siloed strategies, understanding customers in context, and promoting empathy for their needs.”

All of this means designers are playing an increasingly important role in every aspect of the business, often taking seats in the boardroom and leading collaborative efforts, Accenture says.
