The introduction of endnotes in the last release of InDesign was a big deal, but now you have the ability to convert footnotes to endnotes and vice versa. Just go to Type>Convert Footnote and Endnote to open this new dialog and choose the conversion you want to take place, footnote to endnote or endnote to footnote.

An additional option lets you define if all the footnotes or endnotes in the document are converted or only the selected ones.
