Publishing professionals working in a vjoon K4™ workflow environment use query panels search for content and accept tasks to edit content in the system. Once familiar with the search process in queries, a user naturally begins to customize query panels by reordering metadata fields or hiding or showing particular fields to better optimize their process.

Query results can be sorted by clicking on the metadata column name in the query panel. After clicking, an arrow appears to the right of the metadata field name, indicating that the query is being sorted by that field. For example, clicking in the Name metadata field sorts the query results by alphabetical order according to the file name. Users can also reverse-sort by that field by re-clicking on that field.

Queries can have multiple levels of sorts, and sometimes a user just wants to remove all previous sort parameters and reset the query to an unsorted state. Here’s a quick method for doing that:

When a panel shows a sort icon in a metadata field (see the triangle icon pictured above), hold the Shift key and click on the name of that metadata field. Don’t click directly on the sort icon—that will reverse-sort the field. After clicking the metadata field, the sort icon will disappear. To make the sort icon reappear, just click again on a metadata field.
