The annual Advertising Week conference, held in New York during the first week of October, provided an opportunity for marketing and communications leaders from across the spectrum of media channels to come together to discuss key issues and emerging opportunities.

During the conference, the organization Advertising Women of New York, which is marking its 100th anniversary this year, held two events celebrating the occasion. The mission of AWNY, which has more than 1,700 members, is “to provide a forum for personal and professional growth, to serve as a catalyst for the advancement of women in the communications field, and to promote and support philanthropic endeavors through the AWNY Foundation.”

Read more about the AWNY events, and the role of women in media, in the New York Times article “Women and the Changing Face of the Industry.”
