Ruth Altchek has been promoted to the role of Editorial Director of WSJ Weekend at The Wall Street Journal. She had been Editor of the Journal’s Saturday lifestyle section, Off Duty, since 2011. In her new role, Altchek will oversee both Off Duty and WSJ. Magazine, the Journal’s lifestyle magazine. Kristina O’Neill, who was recently hired as Editor of WSJ. Magazine, will report to Altchek.

Altchek’s previous roles include Senior Editor at Martha Stewart Living, and Editorial Projects Director and Features Editor at Domino magazine.

In September, the Journal announced that WSJ. Magazine will increase its frequency from 10 issue to 11 in 2013 and to 12 issues in 2014.
