Newsweek EIC Tina BrownTina Brown, Editor in Chief of The Daily Beast and Newsweek, announced that the print edition of the weekly news magazine will cease to be published at the end of the year and will move to an all-digital format. The new worldwide, subscription-based publication will be called Newsweek Global. “We are transitioning Newsweek, not saying goodbye to it,” Brown said in a post on The Daily Beast.

The all-digital publication will be targeted for a “highly mobile, opinion-leading audience who want to learn about world events in a sophisticated context,” with content available for both tablet and web formats. The Daily Beast plans to offer “select” Newsweek Global content.
