In yet another staff move by Editor in Chief Joanna Coles, Aya Kanai has been named Fashion Director of Cosmopolitan magazine. According to Min Online, she will start in her new role on April 1.

Kanai most recently was Head Stylist at online fashion retailer Shopbop.com and has also served as Senior Fashion Editor at Teen Vogue and Fashion Editor at Nylon.

She is filling a position that was vacated by Michelle McCool, who left Cosmo last month after 10 years as its Fashion Director.

Coles has made a series of changes to the masthead since she took over at Cosmo last September, including the hiring of Joyce Chang as Executive Editor and Marina Khidekel as Deputy Editor.
