Planning for and knowing where assets such as images, audio, and video files are going to be stored is an essential first step in building an Adobe Digital Publishing Suite app.

Before creating documents, set up a folder to store these assets. links-folderTo avoid breaking links, it’s best not to move image or overlay assets after they’ve been placed in the InDesign document. If you move assets for some reason, check the following locations to make sure all of the links are intact:

  • If assets are moved to a different location, they need to be updated in the Links panel, just as they would for a print publication.
  • If audio skins, panoramas, and image sequences are moved, they will need to be relinked in the Folio Overlays panel. Note that there is now a warning icon that will indicate missing overlay assets to help you keep on eye on this. If the links are not updated to a new location, an error message will result when the article is updated in the Folio Builder panel.

After new links are established, the article should be updated in the Folio Builder panel, since they represent a modification to the file structure.
