Welcome to TFP’s roundup of news highlighting women’s roles in the evolving media landscape. Here’s a recap of the latest round of moves in the media industry, including a phenomenal number of promotions.

  • Lauren Johnston is leaving New York’s Daily News, where she has been Digital Editorial Director, to become the Managing Editor for Yahoo News. She has been with the newspaper in a variety of roles since 2008.
  • Kristen Lee has been promoted from digital integration editor to Director of Digital Development at New York’s Daily News. She was previously an online political reporter there.
  • Cover image of Redbook magazineLynne Segall has been promoted from Senior Vice President and Publisher of Guggenheim Media’s The Hollywood Reporter to Executive Vice President and Group Publisher of both Billboard and THR.
  • Meredith Rollins has been promoted to the role of Editor in Chief at Hearst’s Redbook, where she has served as the magazine’s Executive Editor for the past four years. She was previously Executive Editor at Lucky and Articles Director at W.
  • Linda Augsburg has been named Editorial Content Chief for American Patchwork and Quilting magazine and the Meredith Crafts Group. She previously helped launch crafting and sewing magazines and websites at Prime Publishing and was Editor of Kalmbach Publishing’s Make It Mine.
  • Jacki Kelley has joined Bloomberg as Chief Operating Officer of its media business. She was previously Chief Executive for IPG Mediabrands North America.
  • Johanna Derlega has been promoted to Senior Vice President of National Journal Live and Advertising. She had been serving as General Manager of the organization’s events division and was previously Director of the The Hill Newspaper‘s advertising division.
  • Kim Sealy is on board at American Media Inc.’s Natural Health and Fit Pregnancy as Publisher. In March, she had been promoted to Publisher at Bonnier’s Working Mother, where she had held the roles of Eastern Advertising Director and Sales Development Director.
  • Daniela Fayer has been promoted to Publisher of the Government Executive Media Group at Atlantic Media. She has been at the company for 15 years, most recently as Associate Publisher of Defense One.
  • Krissy Tiglias has been hired to fill the newly created role of Digital Director at Domino, overseeing the magazine’s website, Domino.com. She was previously Deputy Editor of RealSimple.com.
  • Andrea Dunham has been promoted from Design Director to Creative Director at People magazine. Prior to joining People, she was Creative Director of Women’s Health.
  • Gale Murray has been promoted to Publisher at Boston Business Journal. She had been National Sales Manager and East Coast Sales Director for the publication’s parent company for the past nine years.
  • Amanda Silverman has been promoted from to the newly created position of Deputy Editor at The New Republic, and Linda Kinstler has moved up from Reporter/Researcher to fill the role vacated by Silverman.
  • Stefanie Rapp has been promoted from Executive Director of Integrated Sales to Associate Publisher at Condé Nast’s Wired. She was previously Associate Publisher and Advertising Sales Director at Town & Country.
  • Rachel Van Dongen has been promoted from Congress Editor and Deputy Politics Editor to Deputy Managing Editor at Politico. She previously worked for The Washington Post and Roll Call.
  • Michelle Lee is the new Editor in Chief of Nylon and Nylon Guys. Lee was formerly the EIC of InTouch and was Vice President of Content at Hollywood.com.
  • Anna Holmes, the founding editor of Jezebel, is moving to the Fusion network to serve as Editor of Digital Voices and Storytelling.
  • Hearst’s Good Housekeeping announced several staff changes: Melissa Geurts left Chatelaine magazine to become Deputy Design Director at GH; Sarah Richardson departed HGTV to become Home Design Director; April Franzino left Self to become Beauty Director; and Rachel Rothman was promoted from Technical Manager to Technical Director.
  • Town & Country also announced several changes, including the promotion of Stellene Volandes from Style Director to Executive Style Director. Mary Kaye Schilling is now Deputy Editor, and Pilar Viladas was brought on board as Architecture and Design Editor.
  • Melissa Ventosa Martin is Self’s new Fashion Director. She had been Style Director at Glamour and was Fashion Market Director and Fashion Editor at T, The New York Times Style Magazine.
  • Jill Abramson, former Executive Editor of The New York Times, will be teaching a course in narrative nonfiction at Harvard University this fall.
