More than ever, data is playing a critical role in content decisions, according to this week’s Infographic Pick of the Week, designed by Web presence management firm Conductor and posted by Direct Marketing News. It highlights the results of a survey that found that a majority of respondents believe it’s very important to research data on customers’ needs before creating content and to position products differently for each audience.

But efforts to target content can fall short if data isn’t managed well, it said. The survey found that 65% of content marketers plan to increase technology investments to better manage data in 2015. Another area of focus is interdepartmental collaboration, with 90% of respondents saying it’s important or very important to digital marketing success.
