Living in a visual world. There’s no question that the media landscape is becoming increasingly visual, and given that trend, the way we consume information is changing too. Indeed, as this week’s infographic from WebDAM shows, our verbal intelligence is decreasing at the same time our visual intelligence is increasing, and the social media platforms experiencing the fastest growth these days are the most visual ones.

How should you respond to these changes as a content provider? Our pick lists four basic tips:

  • Increase visual touchpoints by at least 20% each year
  • Consider all facets of your brand across all of those touchpoints
  • Use more images, and make sure they’re polished
  • Include more video
