Things to avoid include blasting generic notifications, assuming your business works the same as others, and pushing messages only when it’s convenient for you. Conversely, you should know your demographic and tailor your notifications accordingly, follow industry guidelines for notifying users, and push messages at times that are right for your audience (delivery time can influence engagement rates by as much as 200%!).
