Anxious to see the new features in the latest version of InDesign? Did you click the Update button and realize it has removed older versions of the application, one of which you are using for a project perhaps?

When you install an update to a Creative Cloud app, to ensure that previous versions of the app on your computer are not removed, select Advanced Options and make sure that the Remove old versions check box in the Update Confirmation dialog box is deselected.

But if you find that you need to install an older version of InDesign, simply do the following:

  1. Open the Creative Cloud desktop app.
  2. Scroll to the InDesign app.
  3. Click the down arrow next to Update or Open. Then, click Manage.
  4. Click Other Versions.
  5. In the list that appears, find the version you want to install and click Install.

Note: Installing previous versions of InDesign will not overwrite existing versions. Two versions of the same app can run simultaneously on your computer. To support all of our clients, we keep several versions running on our computers, sometimes as many as six, so we can vouch that it works!
